WORKSHOPS

Overview

There are two main components to the presentation of Acrylic Resist Etching Processes; the techniques using the photopolymer printmaking film ImagOn, and the less–toxic replacements to the traditional hand–etching techniques such as hard–ground, soft–ground, aquatint, etc. The additional creative potential of these waterbased materials and processes will be discussed and demonstrated with slides and original prints. These new acrylic printmaking materials are introduced as alternatives to traditional toxic materials, and described in terms of increasing the artist’s safety, reducing disposal concerns, their cost effectiveness, and the expanded options for platemaking now available.

Throughout these workshops we will also be discussing ways to convert a traditional printmaking studio into one that is safer and includes these waterbased materials and resources.
